About the School
Founded in 1893, American University, or AU, is a private university. Located in Washington D.C., its urban campus is 84 acres. Enrollment is approximately 15,000 undergraduate and 5,000 graduate students. AU is in the Patriot League in the NCAA Division 1. There are also club and intramural sports on campus. Around 20% of students participate in “Greek Life” across 29 fraternities and sororities. AU has a Catholic Campus Ministry.
