About the School
Founded in 1998, Ave Maria University is a private Catholic university. Located in Ave Maria, Florida, Ave Maria University moved from Ann Arbor, Michigan to Ave Maria, Florida in 2003. Its 113-acre suburban campus is about 35 miles east of Naples. Enrollment is approximately 1,000 undergraduate and 50 graduate students. Ave Maria University is in the Sun Conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division 2. There are also club and intramural sports on campus. There is no “Greek Life” (fraternities and sororities) on campus. Ave Maria University has a Campus Ministry and is one of 15 faithfully Catholic universities recommended by the Cardinal Newman Society
