About the School

Founded in 1900, Carnegie Mellon University is a private research university. Located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, its urban campus is 157 acres. Enrollment is approximately 7,000 undergraduate and 8,000 graduate students. It has an acceptance rate of less than 20%. Carnegie Mellon is in the University Athletic Association the NCAA Division 3. There are also club and intramural sports on campus. Around 16% of students participate in “Greek Life” across 25 fraternities and sororities. Carnegie Mellon has a Catholic Newman Center, a Thomistic Institute chapter, and a FOCUS ministry.
