About the School
Founded in 1789, Georgetown University is a private Jesuit university with an endowment over $1 billion. It is the oldest Catholic institution of higher education in the United States. Located in the northwest section of Washington D.C., its urban campus is 104 acres. Enrollment is approximately 7,500 undergraduate and 12,000 graduate students and its acceptance rate is less than 15%. Georgetown is in the Big East Conference in the NCAA Division 1. There are also club and intramural sports on campus. Around 10% of students participate in “Greek Life” across 10 fraternities and sororities. Georgetown has a Catholic Ministry.
