About the School
Founded in 1858, Iowa State University is a public university with an endowment over $1 billion. Located in Ames, Iowa, its 1,813-acre campus is about 35 miles north of Des Moines. Enrollment is just over 25,000 undergraduate and approximately 10,000 graduate students. Iowa State is in the Big Twelve Conference in the NCAA Division 1. There are also club and intramural sports on campus. Around 15% of students participate in “Greek Life” across 60 fraternities and sororities. Iowa State has a Catholic Campus Ministry, a Thomistic Institute chapter, and a FOCUS ministry.
