About the School
Founded in 1899, Northern Arizona University, or NAU, is a public university. Located in Flagstaff, Arizona, its 829-acre suburban campus is about 150 miles north of Phoenix. Flagstaff houses the largest Ponderosa Pine forest in the world. The NAU Newman Center was named the 15th best Newman Center in the country by Best College Reviews. Enrollment is approximately 26,500 undergraduate and 3,000 graduate students. Northern Arizona University is in the Big Sky Conference in the NCAA Division 1. There are also club and intramural sports on campus. Around 20% of students participate in “Greek Life” across 30 fraternities and sororities. NAU has a FOCUS ministry.
