About the School

Founded in 1885, Stanford University is a private university with an endowment over $25 billion. Located in Stanford, California, its 8,000-acre rural campus is about 40 miles south of San Francisco. Enrollment is approximately 7,000 undergraduate and 9,000 graduate students. Its acceptance rate is less than 5%. Stanford University is in the PAC-12 Conference in the NCAA Division 1. There are also club and intramural sports on campus. Around 25% of students participate in “Greek Life” across 26 fraternities and sororities. Stanford has a campus ministry called the Catholic Community at Stanford and a Thomistic Institute chapter.
