About the School
Founded in 1921, Stephen F. Austin State University, or SFA, is a public university. Located in Nacogdoches, Texas, its rural campus is 430 acres, about 143 miles northeast of Houston. Enrollment is approximately 12,000 undergraduate and 1,500 graduate students. SFA is in the Western Athletic Conference in the NCAA Division 1. There are also club and intramural sports on campus. Around 15% of students participate in “Greek Life” across 33 fraternities and sororities. SFA has a Catholic Campus Ministry and a FOCUS ministry.
