About the School
Founded in 1853, University of Florida, or UF, is a public university with an endowment over $1 billion. Located in Gainesville, Florida, its 2,000-acre campus is about 75 miles southwest of Jacksonville. Enrollment is approximately 35,000 undergraduate and 20,000 graduate students. UF is in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in the NCAA Division 1. There are also club and intramural sports on campus. Around 15% of students participate in “Greek Life” across 65 fraternities and sororities. UF has a Catholic Student Center, Thomistic Institute chapter, and FOCUS ministry.
