About the School
Founded in 1842, University of Notre Dame is a private Catholic university with an endowment over $10 billion. Located in South Bend, Indiana, its 1,265-acre suburban campus is about 100 miles east of Chicago. Enrollment is approximately 8,500 undergraduate and 4,000 graduate students. Its acceptance rate is less than 20%. University of Notre Dame is in the Atlantic Coast Conference in the NCAA Division 1. The Notre Dame Football program is independent. There are also club and intramural sports on campus. There is no “Greek Life” (fraternities and sororities) on campus. Notre Dame has the Windmoor Study Center, de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture, and FOCUS ministry.
